In the beginning of the 1960's several houses were moved to facilitate the construction of highway 10. One of these homes was to become the residence of the Beauregard family and then the Racine family. The home was later transformed into a restaurant which specialized in fondues. After a few attempts…

Our adventure began December 23, 1993

When Claude and Jeanne Massé with their two young daughters moved into a small Canadian home which had been transformed into a restaurant. Mr. Massé brought his own personal style to the home with touches of his woodworking craftsmanship. Then came the name that expressed the spirit of the enterprise perfectly, "Le Madrigal", a poem sung or spoken by troubadours and minstrels in the middle ages to express tenderness, gentleness and gallantry.

The creation of the Restaurant Le Madrigal
February 24, 1994

Proud of the culinary skills he had acquired in his youth, with a mother and father in the restaurant industry, Mr. Massé soon took over the management of the kitchen while Mrs. Massé managed the dinning room as she had done for the past 20 years. The eldest daughter quickly started working in the kitchen and followed in her mother's steps on to the dining room. Soon afterwards the youngest daughter took over in the kitchen and, once the oldest daughter left to pursue her education, she experienced working in the dining room with her mother as well. The constant relationship developed with their clientele created a desire to fulfill a dream…Mr. Massé used all of his free time to create doors, windows, mouldings, furniture and several other necessary items to fulfill this dream.

June 4, 2001:
The Birth of the "Auberge Le Madrigal"

Claude and Jeanne Massé offered more than just a restaurant to their clientele, they offered tranquility with their 12 bedrooms, decorated with finesse and the art work of several local artists, an enlarged dining room and a terrace in the rear which looks out onto the forest. 2002 saw the further addition of a bar, and a massage therapy salon.

The dream was realized May 22, 2004

In order to continue to develop the health focus of the Auberge, a six person spa was installed in the forest. Were also built, 5 rooms dedicated to the care of the body, Pressure Therapy, Therapeutic Baths, Massage Therapy, a Sauna and a Relaxation Area. In addition to offering all of the services of a large hotel The Madrigal offers an extra human touch which creates a feeling of serenity.
